What do Bricklayers do ?

Bricklaying is a highly skilled trade and craft tht can lead to great career prospects all over the world.  Bricks and blocks (large bricks) are one of the most popular and durable building materials around the world.

Bricklayers create buildings and other structures by joining bricks to blocks using mortar, which is usually a mixture of cement, lime and sand.

Bricklayers must be able to understand working drawings of buildings, apply basic mathematics, liaise with clients and other tradespeople and evaluate the cost and length of time each project will take.

Some projects - such as arches and fireplaces - can be complicated and require a dedication to the craft and creativity of bricklaying as well as trade skills.
