All training is completed on the job. Assessment of unit standards is carried out by industry approved assessors. Please contact this office at the appropriate time to discuss assessment fees.

Each block course runs for three weeks a total of 3 block
courses are required over the term of apprenticeship. Block
courses are currently held in Wellington at the WELTEC (Wellington
Institute of Technology) formerly Hutt Valley Polytechnic. Other
costs connected to the polytechnic may also apply e.g. student
services fees etc. Accommodation costs - If required the
polytechnic offer full board options.
TRAVEL SUBSIDY This payment of up to 80% is made to those apprentices who are required to travel between the North and South Island to attend a course. For those apprentices who are eligible for the subsidy an application form will be sent to the employer at the appropriate time
